除了 iPhone 5 (http://cn.engadget.com/2012/09/12/apple-iphone-5/) 之外 Apple 在今天的发表会上还推出了另一件倍受期待的产品：第五代 iPod touch。和之前传闻 (http://cn.engadget.com/2012/05/23/purported-fifth-gen-ipod-4-1-inch-touch-panel/)的一样，它采用了 4 寸 326 ppi 的屏幕（和 iPhone 5 一样）、A5 芯片（图形性能是上代 iPod touch 的 7 倍），电池方面可以用来听 40 小时音乐或看 8 小时视频。主相机升级到了 500 万像素，采用了背照式 f/2.4 光圈镜头，支持 1080p 录影和防抖功能。在 iPhone 5 上出现的全景拍摄功能也出现在了 iPod touch 之上，另外前置镜头支持 720p，可以通过 Wi-Fi 进行 FaceTime（ iPod touch 没有 4G 版本）。
在背壳上有一个突起的部分方便用户使用挂绳，这样一来在晃动的情况下装置就不容易掉落了。另外 Siri 也出现在了新款的 iPod touch 中，可以说是一个不小的惊喜吧（这可是 Apple 旗下第一款使用 Siri 的非 iPhone 产品呢）。
容量方面新款 iPod touch 有 32GB（人民币 2,298 元）和 64GB（人民币 2,998 元），共有「纯铝」（raw aluminum）、黑、蓝、黄、红 5 种颜色选择，另外还有一款 （PRODUCT）红特别配色。如果觉得太贵的话也可以选择上代产品，16GB 的价格为（人民币 1,498 元）、32GB 为（人民币 1,898 元）。
