在短短一个多月内，Google 旗下的 Google Play edition (http://cn.engadget.com/2013/06/26/htc-one-google-play-edition-hands-on-video/)「军团」从原来的两款产品，扩展到了现在共五款设备，同时横跨手机 (http://cn.engadget.com/2013/12/11/sony-z-ultra-google-play-edition/)、平板 (http://cn.engadget.com/2013/12/11/lg-gpad-83-google-play-edition/)两大领域的规模。在这之中，没有一款是由 Google 揭开面纱的新品，五款产品均为 Android 大厂在售的设备，和零售版的不同，就在于它们无锁，而且使用的是纯净的原生系统。这样做的好处，就是能带给更多用户类似 Nexus 系列的体验，而使用者最希望看到的，应该是比普通版本更早的升级吧。那在所有 Google Play edition 产品中，最新的成员就是上面这台 Moto G (http://cn.engadget.com/tag/motog) 了，其 8GB 和 16GB 的版本目前均可以 US$180（约人民币 1,090 元）和 US$200（约人民币 1,210 元）的价格在 Google Play 商店中买到，是这个系列中迄今为止最便宜的一款。
尽管我们很乐于见到 Google 为用户提供一个没有肿胀软件和不必要功能的纯粹 Android 体验，但老实讲，Moto G 这样的产品真的需要被做成 Google Play edition 吗？其 GSM 版本原本就是无锁，搭载的系统也只是在原生 Android 上加入了 Moto Assist、Migrate 和全新的相机界面而已。就算是更新速度，在其发布后不久，Motorola 就火速为其推送了 Android 4.4 KitKat。那在这样的情况下，Google Play edition 到底能做出什么不同呢？到底哪个才是更好的选择，跳转之后听我们慢慢说吧。
